MEMBERSHIP IN COMPETING FORWARDER NETWORKS

GTO is seeking qualified Freight Forwarders that do NOT hold membership in other networks of independent forwarding companies.

Reference is not being made to local and national associations or to such international organizations as FIATA. Reference is being made to global networks of independent forwarders operating in a manner similar to GTO.

Some existing global networks of independent forwarding companies have an "open" policy with regard to accepting members from other forwarder networks. They accept members of other networks with the theory such companies should "explore all of their alternatives / options " relative to international logistics.

The Board of Directors of GTO can somewhat understand the basis for such a theory, to a degree, but does not agree with such a position.

GTO has been constructed and shall be operated in a manner designed to meet virtually all of the needs of its' membership. GTO shall ask for the full support of the membership in every area from developing co-operation with other GTO members to attending annual membership meetings as well as participating in sales promotions and developing gateway systems.

The GTO Board of Directors does not wish to be offensive with this position. However, there is only so much effort, time and money any given member can contribute to a network organization such as GTO. The administrators of GTO intend to give their full attention to the GTO membership and need the same support in return.
