All GTO members are required to have the ability to provide both air and sea international transport / logistics services.

All GTO members are recognized as experienced logistics experts in their local markets.

GTO is operated by management and staff with over 15 years of global forwarding network management experience.

GTO is continually engaged in membership expansion as we relentlessly pursue the long term goal of securing excellent members in over 140 countries / over 750 cities worldwide.

GTO policy requires all members to have email capabilities.

GTO maintains a very careful membership screening process to ensure all forwarding companies entering GTO possess the high standard of professional qualifications. Unprofessional and ethical conduct is not tolerated by the management of GTO.

GTO has a very firm set of membership rules ( GTO Bylaws ). All members worldwide must remain in full compliance with the GTO Bylaws, at all times, as a mandatory condition of maintaining GTO Membership in good standing. The GTO Bylaws include but are not limited to such areas as promptly responding to inquiries on a member-to-member basis, performing efficiently and in a professional manner on a member-to-member basis. All GTO members must maintain a records of timely fulfilling financial obligations to other members of GTO. All provisions of the GTO Bylaws are enforced by the GTO Board of Directors on a continual basis.

GTO has designed and implemented the excellent Internet-based GTO Global Transport Sea Cargo Program, which allows GTO members to have access to use of the GTO Global Transport, Inc., Bill of Lading on a worldwide basis. The Internet-based GTO Sea Cargo System allows the filing of rates with the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission, as required by U.S. laws.

GTO Global Transport, Inc., is a “ sister “ company of GTO and is an U.S.-based OTI, NVOCC with operating authority granted by the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission. GTO Global Transport, Inc., is represented worldwide by members of GTO. Only members of GTO are authorized to represent Global Transport, Inc., as a vital part of the GTO Global Logistics System, designed exclusively for the growing membership of GTO.

GTO members and their clients have use of the Internet-based GTO Tracking System, as part of the GTO Sea Cargo System. All GTO members issuing a GTO Global Transport, Inc., Bill of Lading, may refer their clients direct to the GTO Tracking System, which can be linked directly to the websites of the GTO members, if desired.

GTO Global Transport, Inc., has negotiated working agreements with a number of excellent direct and indirect carriers participating in the GTO Global Transport Sea Cargo Program. The number of participating carriers shall grow as the program continues to expand to the benefit of GTO members throughout the world. One of the firm objectives is and shall remain to utilize the collective cargo volumes and buying power of the growing global membership of GTO, to secure rate reductions based upon volume considerations.

GTO is designing the GTO Global Transport Air Cargo Program, with the scheduled date of introduction / implementation to be August, 2002. The program shall include availability of use of the GTO Global Transport Airway Bill. The GTO member program shall also include the Internet-based GTO Tracking System for air cargo.  Again, one of the objectives is and shall remain to utilize thetremendous collective cargo volumes and buying power of the global membership of GTO, to secure rate reductions based upon volume considerations.

GTO has designed, created and implemented the exceptional GTO Cargo Insurance Program, with expert management services provided by Roanoke Trade Services  ( U.S. ) and Alexander Forbes ( U.K. ). The excellent program provides members of GTO with direct access to an outstanding global insurance policy underwritten by Lloyd’s of London. Members of GTO have the opportunity to buy and sell air / sea cargo insurance on a worldwide basis.

GTO holds Annual GTO World Conferences in June of each year. All GTO members are encouraged to attend these very important events in order to take advantage of the excellent opportunities to meet with other GTO members from locations throughout the world.

GTO vendors ( carriers, surety companies, etc. ) involved in various member programs also have representatives available to answer questions and explain their services.

GTO allows only one ( 1 ) member per location worldwide. While some global forwarding networks allow three to five members per location, GTO has an entirely different view. GTO is continually dedicated to the concept of one member per location as a part of the process of building a unified worldwide logistics body capable of offering service capabilities at the highest levels and standards while also have the local expertise and experience available with the participation of members of GTO. Every GTO member has an important part to play in this massive effort and is an integral part of the GTO network.

GTO provides the global membership of GTO with a weekly email broadcast of “ GTO NEWS “, to keep the membership informed of all developments taking place within GTO.

GTO shall continue to develop excellent member programs to benefit the entire global membership as GTO continues forward in pursuit of its’ many goals.
